Kitty Treats, Marshmallows + Note to Self

Pin It It's been a little while since Lola and Lucy made an appearance on the blog.  Lucy has grown quite a bit, while Lola has pretty much stayed the same!  These two both make me laugh every day with the way they interact.  One will be napping, and the other will tip-toe over to sniff the snoozing one.  Then a chase ensues and they zip all through the house!  A few times a day, Lucy will do sprints back and forth, from one end of the house to the other, and then lay down and take a nap.  I found that she likes to be cheered on as she races...or at least it seems that way!   Without further adieu, here are some of my favorites from our brief session the other day, thanks to some kitty treats and marshmallows (Lucy's favorite!).  **Note to Self:  Next time, ease in to the marshmallow treats...they made for an even more hyperactive puppy!**

This one melts my heart!  Lola really can be a sweetheart when she wants to be!

Usually Lola isn't fond of having too many photos taken, but this afternoon was an exception.

Oh, Lucy!  I want this photo of you on my desk!!!

Tied as a favorite of Lola!  She really worked it for some treats! ;)

Happy Friday!

Lucy | 8 weeks

Pin It We found Lucy earlier this summer.  She has captured our hearts!  She has been growing so fast!  I wanted to be sure to get lots of photos while she was still a teeny tiny little pup, so one afternoon when she was very sleepy I captured some of her sweet and furry cuteness.

Little puppy paws!

Little sweetheart!!!  That face... those eyes!

Oh, and Lola wanted in on some of the action surprisingly!  I'll take what I can get!  ;)
She has adjusted to her new sister after being the only pet in the house for 6 years.

Love both of these!  Lola was watching Lucy across the room, and Lucy was watching Reggie.

Later we ventured outside once the heat of the day subsided a little to get some more photos, and these are some of my absolute favorites.

I want to put this photo on my desk in my office!  ♥

Lucy, you stole our hearts from the moment we held you.  We are so happy, lucky, and blessed to have found you that hot, summer day in July!  We love you to pieces... and so does Lola.  xoxo

In an Instant

Pin It I recently found some photos of Lola, our beloved little kitty, and thought it would be fun to share just a few. It's been awhile since she made an appearance on the blog. I must admit, she doesn't really like to have her picture taken, perhaps she's modest.  However, she is quite photogenic, and I'm determined to prove it to her!

Earlier this week, I posted this photo of her on Facebook.  She loves getting cozy in just about any place, especially in this vintage suitcase.  I think she'll like this one! :)

One moment she's just a normal cat, enjoying normal cat activities, like napping or thinking about napping...

...and in an instant, Lola yawns.  Such a big yawn!  I know, I know, it looks like she's hissing or laughing even.  However, I can assure you that this was indeed a yawn.

After our little impromptu photo shoot, she found a nice spot by her favorite window and curled up for a nap.  Just another day in the life of Lola!

A Day in the Life of Lola: Sunday

Pin It She gets called many names:  Lola Belle, Lilo, Lo, Kittles, Fabulous Whiskers, Miss Kitty, Fur Monster, just to mention a few.  Her favorite sound is the clang-clang of a can-opener, because it can only mean one thing...Tuna!  Coming in a close second  is the hum of the garage door opening because she knows she's in for some hugs and cuddling after a long day of napping, birdwatching, and waiting for tuna.  She likes to meow at the front door, in hopes that she'll be brave enough to frolic in the grass before pouncing on some bird in flight (of which she is terrified, by the way).  If you asked her what her favorite day of the week is, I suspect she would answer "Sunday", without a doubt. That is, if she could, in fact, answer you. ;)

According to Lola, Sundays are purr-fect for napping, birdwatching, and, of course, waiting for tuna. She knows how to multi-task:  birdwatching in between catnaps.

She also likes to page through all the latest decorating, fashion, and fitness magazines.

Sometimes she doesn't mind posing for a photo.
And for me, that makes Sunday purr-fect in my book too.

On the Lookout

Pin It It's been a little while since Lola has made an appearance here on the blog, so I thought I would make her day by posting just a few recent photos.  A couple weeks ago, we fired up the grill since it was a nice day.  We left the french door open, and Lola sat at the threshold, on the lookout for Spring.  She's always really excited at this time of year since there is more activity just outside her window to keep her occupied.  She's an indoor cat, but she gets more intrigued by the great outdoors...that is, until a chirping bird or barking dog is heard in the distance, sending her running back inside to safety.

She's learned to look both directions before making a move!

And on a recent rainy Sunday afternoon, this is how my husband found her...
she had curled up inside a blanket! Looks nice and cozy to me!
Again, she's always watching something, unless, of course, she's snoozing.
Her Sunday agenda is always the same: Catnap.

It's so fun to see what new spot she'll make her own in the house.  Oh wait, I forgot, she thinks that she owns the whole house!  Silly me!

Lola's got her game-face on!

She's got black stripes, razor-sharp claws, soft and fuzzy fur...and a football of her very own. Ok, so maybe the football doesn't belong to her, but I digress. However, she totally owns her game-face!

Bring it!

Ready to Play! She's been studying Peyton's moves.

The Saints better watch out, because Lola is R-E-A-D-Y!
Ready for the Big Game, the Superbowl, baby!

GO COLTS!
Are you lucky enough to be heading south to Miami? If so, I am so envious!

Lola cops an attitude!

It's been a while since I've posted pictures of Lola, the beloved cat that has been extra cuddly lately. She's never been a 'lap cat', and doesn't really like too much attention, in general. Although she's always waiting for us at the door when we get home. I would love to get a photo of her just to share with you her little ritual, which I just adore. Cats and dogs may disagree with me on this, but I think they sometimes share a few similarities. And waiting at the door for some hugs and kisses, tails wagging, and little barks and chirps, are some of those few. Enough of my rambling, on to the photos!

Waking up with a camera in her face after a little Sunday afternoon nap

Lola LOVES shoes...and shoe strings. I may wrap this one up for her for Christmas and put it in her stocking! ....Yes, she has her very own stocking!
It was a gift from her "Grandma Patti" in Florida. :) She often naps on the stocking under the tree during the holidays.

Something outside caught her eye...

Favorite! I love her attitude, and the way
her pose echoes that of the flowers in the background.

If you have a pet, what is it about them that you love?
Do they have quirky traits that make you smile? Leave a comment to tell me about it!
Happy Weekend!
