Bennett | 9 days

Last summer I had the sheer delight of photographing a beautiful and happy family to celebrate the first birthday of their first child.  Brian, Brittani, and Bryson were so much fun!  So you might imagine how excited I was to hear that they were expecting their second child, a little boy!  Bennett was born just a few days after Bryson's 2nd birthday - what a perfect present for his older brother!  This little guy was a happy - and sleepy! - camper for his first time in front of my camera!  When he was awake, he simply observed his surroundings, taking everything in.  Bennett, you make your parents beam with happiness.  And Bryson is the perfect big brother!  I'll admit  I'm quite smitten with you too!  I have quite a few favorites from our afternoon, so let's get right to them!  Friends and family can view Bennett's entire online gallery here.

Adorable!

Bryson received quite a present for his 2nd birthday!  :)

Perfect little fingers and toes.

Lovelovelove.

I had to include Bennett's sneak peek from Facebook!
So sweet!

Bryson, you are already such a great big brother!
P.S. Beyond adorable, both of you!
P.P.S. Another favorite.

Bennett's cool blue and gray nursery was so cute!

Brittani, you are so pretty!  Love both of these!

This rocking chair has been in the family for years,
and now the newest member of the family gets to enjoy it!

Hi there, Bennett!

Love this!

B + B, you two are so cute!

Another favorite!

:)

Brian loves to golf.  He has the cutest lil' caddy!  ;)

I'll end with one more favorite.  I love catching a big, sleepy yawn!

Brian, Brittani, Bryson, and Bennett, I absolutely love photographing your sweet family!
Your joy and love for each other is so refreshing!
Thank you for such a fun, easy-going session!  Can't wait to see you all again!

Dear Patti

Dear Patti,

We last spoke on Mother's Day after Reggie and I had brunch with some friends at our church.  You sounded happy and wished me a beautiful Mother's Day, as Remington sat in the backseat ready for a nap.  I told you that I loved you, and that we would chat again soon.  I didn't know that would be the last time I would speak to you.  I don't want for this to be a really sad letter, because neither of us would like that!  Instead, I would like to tell you how thankful I am to be your daughter-in-law.  I remember meeting you for the first time in the Spring of 2004.  You greeted me with a smile and a warm hug as we arrived at your door at 3am after driving straight through from Indiana.  You welcomed me and told me to make myself at home.  Your home was filled with art, collections of books and beautiful shells, and odds and ends that you found when "junking."  I loved going through old family photos of you and Reggie - he was such an adorable baby boy!  Those photos of the two of you on the beach will always be some of my favorites!

I am so incredibly lucky to have found your son, Reggie.  I love him so very much, and I couldn't have asked for a better man to be my husband and best friend.  He is loving, generous, creative, driven, hard-working.  He learned so much from you.  Because of your encouragement, he is achieving his dreams.  And he never stops dreaming.  I love that about him!  I hope that I can be that kind of example to my own son.

I promise to love our family with all my heart.
I will always love you and miss you.

Stephanie

P.S. Thank you for believing in me.  And for always having chocolates around for my sweet tooth.

My mother-in-law, Patti, was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer on her 74th birthday in November 2009.  After a courageous fight, she passed peacefully Tuesday morning with her two sons at her side.

Family | Todd + Cristina + Jack + Lucy Beatrice

I've had the honor of photographing this sweet family for the past few years, and I was so excited when I heard the news that they were expecting a new member of the family!  Todd and Cristina welcomed their first daughter into this world in April, Miss Lucy Beatrice!  I just love her name!  Lucy is blessed with the most perfect older brother she could ask for, Jack.  Lucy was just shy of her 1 month birthday for their session.  We had beautiful weather in which to capture some outdoor family photos before ooohing and awwwing over precious Lucy in her bright and cheerful nursery!  Family and friends can view the entire online gallery here.  Todd, Cristina, Jack, and Lucy, thank you so much for the honor of documenting this happy time in your lives!  Here are some favorites from the afternoon!

A favorite!

Hi Jack!
Look at those amazing eyes!  And that endearing smile!

Cristina, you are a beautiful Mom!

Lucy's nursery is completely adorable!

It's pretty clear that Lucy is smitten with her Daddy!

I love the whimsical and inspirational details!

Like clockwork, Lucy woke up from her afternoon nap just when her Mommy said she would!
She didn't want to miss any of the action!  ;)

Love, love, love this!
