Sneak Peek | Morris-Butler House Wedding | Anne + Nick

Pin It I just couldn't go into this long holiday weekend without sharing some beautiful images from a recent wedding that took place on a lovely, sunny Cinco de Mayo at the historic Morris-Butler House.  Anne and Nick had been counting down the days until they exchanged "I do's" in front of their closest friends and family members.  Frankly, I have to admit I was counting right along with them!  Ever since their engagement session, I knew their wedding day was going to be one amazing event!  With their style and love of art and color, they put so much into each and every detail and moment of the day, making it a fun, unique, and festive celebration!  Love it!  Much more to come soon, but for now, let's take a quick look at some bridal details and moments leading up to the ceremony!

These gorgeous bracelets were given to Anne by her dear friend and bridesmaid, Jenny.

Something blue.

Anne got this fabulous vintage purse from Nick's Mom - love the intricate beading!
And the gold accents paired perfectly with those bracelets!

I always love receiving the wedding invitations from my couples... and this one especially rocked my socks off since they used some engagement images!

Such a beautiful wedding dress!

The sparkling brooch was a Christmas gift from the bride's sister and Matron of Honor, Audrey.

I'm absolutely smitten with the Morris-Butler House!  And on their wedding day, it was particularly beautiful with blue skies and puffy white clouds.

Anne was an excited bride! She could not stop smiling!

Gorgeous florals!

While Anne and her bridesmaids finished getting ready, it was time to get some portraits of the groom.

At the rehearsal dinner the night before, Anne and Nick surprised each other with wedding gifts.
He loved this stylish chapeau Anne picked out for him.

Anne!!!!!  You were such a beautiful bride!

It was time for Anne and Nick's First Look!  I always love this time of the wedding day!  When I meet with couples, I give them options, and encourage them to decide what is right for them.  I'm always so glad when couples do opt to see each other prior to the ceremony.  You'll see why in just a moment...
The father of the bride escorts her to meet Nick.

As I was saying above, a First Look gives the couple more time for portraits together, and allows for images that wouldn't be possible when greeting each other at the end of the aisle during the ceremony. Plus, all family photos can be taken before the ceremony as well, leaving more time for even more bride and groom and bridal party portraits.  Yay!

A favorite!

Such a gentleman!  Nick helps his soon-to-be wife down the steps.

I'll end this post with the sneak peek that I posted the day after their wedding on facebook

Stay tuned for more coming soon!
Have a happy and safe holiday weekend!

Happy New Year!

Pin It Just checking in to wish you all a safe and Happy New Year!  2011 has been such a fun year - I've met so many wonderful clients and friends, shared in some of the most happy and joyous moments at weddings, hugs and laughter during engagement sessions, meeting new little ones just days after they're born, and watching seniors celebrate their achievement and look forward to the next chapter in their lives.  I'm so lucky and blessed and completely honored to do what I love and to meet so many amazing people and their families!  From the bottom of my heart, thank to you, dear clients, awesome friends, my wonderful husband and family, and everyone who supports my dreams!  I'm so excited for 2012!

One of my wedding day rituals is to listen to some of my favorite tunes on the way to the ceremony and sing in the car, like I'm the next American Idol.  Yesterday, on my way to a beautiful wedding, this one came on and I couldn't help but smile and sing as loud as I could, all the while thinking how lucky I was to be on my way to do what I love - documenting people in love.  The song's title is Good Feeling, which is how I feel about the New Year upon us.  Did I mention that I'm excited for 2012?

And a blog post wouldn't be complete without a photo...here is a Sneak Peek from yesterday's wedding.
Congratulations, Jen + Doug!

Sneak Peek: Family: Chris + Celina + Cobe + Cailey + Carley + Rich + Karen + Luke + Ashley

Pin It The forecast called for afternoon showers, which totally conflicted with my plans to meet up with this next family.  Dark clouds loomed, rain drops fell. The sky gave way for a short while, and then it stopped.  Despite the gray weather, I knew this session would be great.  Another reason shined brighter though. I was greeted with a warm hug by Celina.  She told me she was a hugger.  We had only spoken on the phone a few times and traded planning emails prior to this meeting. And that's how I knew, from that moment, we were in for a fun session.  Please give a warm welcome to this amazing family: Chris, Celina, Cobe, Cailey, Carley, Rich, Karen, Luke, and Ashley!  You guys were so much fun!  I can't wait to see you all again!  And now for some images!

Cailey, Cobe, and Carley!

Karen and Rich, you two are adorable!  And surrounded by such a wonderful family!
Karen and Rich are proud parents of Celina and Luke, proud grandparents of Cobe, Cailey,
and Carley, and proud parents-in-law (I think I just made that up!) to Chris and Ashley.
Truly a loving bunch. A fun loving bunch!

Celina and Chris, the hugger and the smile-maker (more on that later!)

Luke is Celina's brother.  He and Ashley were married back in September. What a sweet couple!

Cobe is 11, and a great big brother.
With those eyes and that smile, all the girls will be after you, Cobe!

 Cailey's 8, and quite a beauty.

And this little 5 year old sweetheart is Carley.  Don't you love her blond curls?

The ladies worked.it.out for the camera!

As did the fellas...I'll be sending this one to GQ ASAP, as you requested. ;)

This family is very close, enjoying time together on the weekends hanging out.
They were so thrilled when Ashley joined their family, especially Cailey...

 ...and Carley!

And they are totally smitten with their Uncle Luke.

 I love this one!

The kids wanted their photo with Luke and Ashley...

...and then came the leaves!

Celina and her girls, Chris and his little guy.

Remember earlier when I called Chris the "smile-maker"?  This is why!

I absolutely love this one.

Grandfather and grandson on a walk along a colorful path.

Ashley and Luke.  I love the quietness of your love.

It was as if the red berries on the trees were there just for them!

Thank you, thank you, thank you all for such a great session!
And thank you for making me feel like part of the family as well.
Please keep smiling, hugging, and laughing, because it's contagious. :)
I'm looking forward to seeing you all again soon! You're the best!
