I just loved photographing Trena's gorgeous wedding gown!
Don't you just love her shoes? I do!
As if Trena and Bob weren't sweet enough already, as soon as I saw their rings and heard the story behind them, I melted. Bob had written a love poem to Trena, and as a surprise, Trena had some of her favorite lines engraved on the middle section of Bob's wedding band. More on this in a moment...
I'll admit, I had tears in my eyes at this early point of the day! (P.S. I love my job!)
"A lifetime of this beautiful mess..."
Meanwhile, in the vineyard, Bob waited with excited anticipation to see his bride-to-be for the first time on their big day: They spoke to each other through the vines as Trena made her way to him, all smiles, of course.
I love this sweet moment!
Trena could hardly wait to show Bob his wedding band...he loved it!
Thankfully, the rain held off and gave us plenty of time for photos of this beautiful pair.
Trena, you were a stunning bride! Soooo pretty!
Beautiful, soft light filtered through the leafy vineyard.
One of my favorites from the day!
P.S. I love, love, love that Trena and Bob opted for a First Look at the winery. Not only did it allow us plenty of time for photos of the happy couple (and some alone time), we also didn't have to worry about capturing these in the fast-fading daylight after the evening ceremony along with family photos... all while praying to evade the threat of rain that was forecast for the day.
When I showed this to Bob on the back of my camera, he was shocked.
Yes, Bob, you really are that handsome! :)
Simply beautiful.
Gorgeous florals by JP Parker Flowers.
Then it was time to head off to the ceremony before coming back to the winery for the reception!
Minutes before the ceremony, Bob and his two favorite guys, his sons, Ben and Zack.
Ben and Zack lit the candles to start the ceremony.
For anyone wondering if a First Look takes anything away from the groom seeing his bride walk down the aisle, I think this photo proves that it absolutely does not! Bob couldn't take his eyes off of Trena!
Trena's younger brother, Sean, walks her down the aisle.
Married! A sweet kiss makes it official!
Two of the most handsome young men in suits!
A few more photos of the newlyweds before the evening light fades...
Love is...beautiful.
Mallow Run Winery has a great outdoor space that is covered, in addition to their wide open grassy area just down the hill on the other side of the patio.
Trena made the centerpieces using images from their engagement session! She collected corks over time to use as perfect photo displays. So clever and creative! It's so cool when couples incorporate personal touches!
They also incorporated a very special cake server and knife...the very ones used at Trena's mother and late father's wedding years ago.
Another favorite. The first dance.
Aside from becoming husband and wife, Trena and Bob wanted nothing more than for their guests to relax and enjoy a night of food, music, dancing, and celebrating. And they did just that, all night long.
All the kids kept the dance floor jumpin'!
Name that tune! What song are these guests dancing to? Leave a comment with your answer!
C'mon, this is an easy one! ;)
For each wedding in the family, Trena's mom creates a custom quilt from squares signed by wedding guests. What a wonderful idea!
Now for those of you who know Sean, you know that he's quite the speaker, especially at weddings. He'll make you laugh, cry, and laugh some more. His words are always sincere, always heartfelt. Here he was saying something to the effect that Bob better take good care of his sister and mentioned something about having an invoice... You had to be there, I suppose! Just look at the reactions from Bob, his wife, Kristen, and other guests! Sean spoke at my wedding, and we love him dearly!
And then he toasted the happy couple! Cheers!
At the very end of the night, one last slow song played, and Sean asked his beautiful sister for a dance. It was the sweetest thing to watch. Good thing no one could see my tears behind my camera!
Trena and Bob, thank you from the bottom of my heart for allowing me to share such a very special day with you. Your families and friends are truly wonderful and welcoming and kind, and I'm so glad to count you all as friends. Your day was beyond perfect in every way. I'm so very happy for you both! Can't wait to see you soon!
P.S. Thank you to my husband and best friend, Reggie, for all of his help on this day! I love you!Pin It
