Evening Amethyst
Pin It
Lately I've been drawn to all shades of purple...lavendar, violet, and amethyst. As the sun was setting after a long day of heat and humidity, I went to check our mailbox, where we have some hostas and some variety of salvia planted. And guess what color the salvia is...

Maternity: Heather + Brian
Pin It
Have I mentioned that I love what I do? Well, it's true! I love meeting happy people! And to be able to share in a happy time in two peoples' lives is an incredible honor. Heather and Brian are two such happy people who met four years ago. They've been married for two years and are expecting their first child, a baby girl! Heather and Brian, thank you so much for sharing your afternoon with me. I know you will be absolutely amazing parents. As I told you that afternoon, you both glowed with love and excitement, and your spirit shines through in all of your images. This is one of those Sessions I will always remember, and I knew that the instant your Session began. I got chills when capturing your time together as a couple, as you walked hand in hand down the green paths and sat so close on benches. And then more chills when going through your images, and even now as I type this very post. It's true! I am so, so, so very excited for you guys, and cannot wait to see your family grow! If you missed Heather + Brian's Sneak Peek, take a look here! Let's get right to the images because there are quite a few!
Motherhood
When Heather and I were planning their Session, she told me how amazing her husband Brian is...it's easy to see why! Favorites, both of them.
Isn't Heather beautiful? Yes, she is!
Beautiful eyes! Are you kidding me?! This baby girl is going to be gorgeous!
So sweet, so happy.
Now this is one proud dad! See what I mean? They are so excited!!!
Heather, I'm so glad you wanted to do these indoor images!
Heather and Brian, you guys are the best! I can't wait to meet your new little girl!
Congratulations!!!

Morning Fog
Pin It
The other day I arrived early to my on-location engagement session. As I drove along, I noticed the beauty and serenity of the early morning fog that had settled. I knew it was going to be a wonderful day.
What is your favorite thing about the early morning hours? Do you grab a cup of coffee and read the newspaper? Do you pull the covers over your head to muffle the sound of birds chirping outside your window? The latter usually describes what I do whenever I get the chance, but now that I've seen this amazing morning light, I'm definitely excited to get out the door early to capture more scenes like this! Happy Birthday, Reggie!
Happy Birthday to the most wonderful man in the universe! Today's is my husband's birthday, and I plan to spoil him rotten! Reggie makes me laugh, even when I don't feel like laughing. His warm hugs melt away a long day's stress. His smile is contagious. His eyes sparkle with hope and enthusiasm, even on the most cloudy days. Although Reggie is a great storyteller, he's an even better listener. His hard work and dedication to his passion as an entrepreneur is inspiring and refreshing. He creates his own path while pursuing his dreams. I'm so very proud to call him my husband...I feel like the luckiest woman ever. Happy Birthday, Reggie! I love you!
As some of you know, I take photos of Reggie for his blog. I thought it would be fun to show you some of my favorite images of him in action at Reggie's Motorworks, where he focuses primarily on BMW, as well as Mini, Audi, and Volkswagon. Be sure to visit www.reggiesmotorworks.com for more details!

Sneak Peek: Maternity: Heather + Brian
Pin It
To say that I've been extremely excited to share a few images from this session is a huge understatement...I knew from the click, click, click of my shutter, that I couldn't wait to share! I met Heather and Brian a few short weeks ago, on a cloudy afternoon, with the threat of rain looming over us. Luckily, we wrapped up in the nick of time. I think it was their smiling faces that kept the rain at bay. Enough of my chatter, let's get on with Heather and Brian's Sneak Peek, shall we? Yes, we shall! And, oh yes, there will be more to come very soon!

A quiet moment, so very tender.
I love working with people who are in love. And these two most definitely are in love.
And they are so excited to become parents!
Hint, hint...
Brian, you are going to be an amazing father.
Heather, you are beautiful!
One of my absolute favorites!
Heather and Brian, thank you so much for trusting in me to capture this important time in your lives,
I am truly honored. And I'm so excited to share the rest of your images with you.

A Peony For Your Thoughts
Pin It
A few weeks ago, my parents planted some peonies in our yard. These peonies are very special for several reasons. Their delicate beauty and fresh scent remind me of childhood, summer time, and feeling carefree. Many of our relatives have these in their landscaping, and now my husband and I have a little piece of that history in common with them. And I had gorgeous white peonies in my wedding bouquet because of the aforementioned reasons. We're not sure if our newly planted peonies will bloom this season, after the shock of being transplanted, so we'll see. I did find this peony, located just outside my husband's shop. As the sun was setting in the evening sky, I took this photo and added a little dash of magic to give it a vintage flair.
Do you have a favorite tree or flower that reminds you of childhood? Do you have it in your yard now?
Share with us in the comments!
Have a great day!

Love: Cindy + Larry
Pin It
Their love story began years ago in Indiana. She had lived in Argentina and Mexico before coming back to Indiana to graduate from high school. During that time, she met him...the one who smiles at her when she's not looking. Larry stole her heart, and they married 5 years later. They have visited countries and continents all around the world, and spent 3 years living in England and 3 more in Hungary. Now they enjoy the seasons that are so famous here in the Midwest. I was honored when they asked me to spend an afternoon with them. Thanks again, Cindy and Larry, for a tasty lunch and a fun-filled day in the sun. (If you missed their Sneak Peek, click here!)
They laugh often...always a great thing!
And she loves red tulips!
I love the way he looks at her.
As we strolled around, Cindy told me that they are best of friends. Love it!
Hi Larry!
A favorite! It was so sunny and bright, and I love the play of light and shadow we found.
More proof that this couple is cute! I'm sooo glad you guys brought this!
The chair that has become so famous on this blog
belonged to Cindy's Mother, Tracy's Grandmother, who is dearly loved and missed.
What a great way to remember someone so very special.
Another favorite!
We made our way to Morse Reservoir, where Larry loves to fish.
And they often bring a picnic lunch to this very spot. Perfection!
More favorites...I'm allowed to have more than one! ;)
Husband and wife, best friends, a tall shade tree by the lake...can't get much better than this!
Cindy and Larry, thank you so much for spending the afternoon with me!
You are such great examples of love and friendship.
I can't wait for you to see the rest of your images!
