Dear Friend: Audrey

Pin It April 2009
Indianapolis, IN

I was so excited to work with one of my best friends a few weeks ago. I'm truly blessed to be surrounded with such genuine, fun, compassionate people. Audrey is no exception. She's a kindergarten teacher, truly dedicated to enriching the lives of our future generations. Reading is a passion of hers as well. Every time we chat, she's just finished a book and started a new one. (Thanks for introducing me to the Twilight saga!) Audrey loves health and fitness, and runs several times a week with her sweet dog, Stella. Again, I have Audrey to thank for getting me into running. Together we have run in 2 Mini-Marathons and finished 1 mini-triathlon. Besides her talents and gifts, such as playing the piano, scrapbooking, and being a great listener, Audrey is a true friend, and a beautiful person. And so without further adieu...

You may remember previous posts for Audrey and her husband, Phil, and their dog, Stella.

Audrey's house is beautiful...I love this hallway!
And the natural lighting we had this day was perfect-o!

It's rare that Audrey is not smiling, but I love the quietness of this one.

One of my favorites!

Audrey, thank you so much for all of your
support and encouragement, it really means a lot to me.
See you soon!

Ashley: Back from Paris

Pin It March 2009
Fishers, IN

My dear friend Ashley and her husband Ben just returned from a fabulous venture abroad to Paris, France and Barcelona, Spain. They had a fantastic time, and it was so fun to hear their stories and see their photos. I asked Ashley if she would want to model for me, and she said yes, of course, so we took advantage of the great lighting at her home. Using natural light is so fun! In my opinion, it's the best light I can ask for when it comes to photography. Here are some of my favorites from her shoot.

Thank you, Ashley, for all of your help and support in chasing my dream.
You are a truly beautiful person, inside and out, and I'm so honored to call you my friend.
See you soon!

Love: Audrey + Phil + Stella

October 2008

Indianapolis, IN & Brown County, IN

Audrey and Phil are the perfect match. She's a teacher; he fights fires. Together they are dynamite! Two of the most caring people you'll ever meet, with a zest for life and all things fun and adventurous. They also have a sweet dog named Stella. I had the honor to capture the three of them this fall.

Stella demonstates poise and grace.

All eyes on Stella!

Fall. In love.

A special sunset for two special people.

Thank you, Audrey, Phil and Stella! I am so lucky to have you as my friends. You're the best!

P.S. Audrey and Phil were married June 16, 2007. In the whirlwind of the wedding day, no photos were taken of their rings. So we made it happen!

Gillian: Friend & Fellow Photographer

Pin It November 30, 2008
Indianapolis, IN

Meet Gillian! She was in photography class with me over the summer, and we hit it off. She is a teacher and photographer, truly an artist! We finally got together to discuss our photography journey and to get some portrait practice, of course! We braved the 30 degree weather, combined with rain, mist, and just sheer damp coldness, by the time we called it a day. Gillian had scoped out some awesome locations downtown. Take a look!

We would often resort to fits of laughter either due to the extreme cold or due
to the fact that at times we felt like we were getting senior pictures taken.

I could see this as an ad for Hollister. Don't you agree?

We had to get some jump shots.

Oh what a feeling! This is how we ended our day.
We both set up our tripods along the street and jumped several times.
Passers-by may have thought we were at cheerleading tryouts...or maybe just a little crazy!

Gillian, thank you for all of your support and encouragement! I'm so glad we got to hang out!

Family: Leslie + Elijah

Pin It November 8, 2008
Bloomington, IN

My dear friend Leslie and her son Elijah enjoyed some frolicking in the bright fall leaves on IU's gorgeous campus. Elijah has a birthday coming up soon! What a sweetheart!

Elijah loved playing in the leaves. It was so cute to watch him because at one point he was trying to give the leaves back to the trees. How sweet is that?!

It was great to visit you two! Can't wait to see you again!

Noblesville, IN

I was so excited to photograph my good friends Ashley and Ben! As soon as I arrived at their home, we heard thunder...oh no! Downpour! For over an hour! So we went to dinner and hoped that the clouds would make way for some late evening sun. We got our wish! It was only sprinkling when we left the restaurant, so we made our way to our first spot, Potter's covered bridge. What a neat location! And these two are totally in love and not to mention photogenic! Happy 2 Year Anniversary!!! Thanks again for a great evening!

This misty setting was so cool on these old railroad tracks.

One of my favorites!

These two were up for anything! Forget traditional poses!

And a romantic, colorful sky over the lake to end the evening...

Thanks again, Ashley and Ben!

Wedding: Kristen + Nick

What a beautiful day for a wedding of two good friends! Just perfect! I would like to thank Kristen for the opportunity to shadow her photographer for the day. Katie is a friend of mine as well, and she was also my wedding photographer! She is truly passionate about her work, and it shows! What an inspiration! Thank you, Katie, for all of your help and encouragement and the opportunity to see how you rock the camera! You are amazing!

The wedding ceremony and reception took place at Purgatory Golf Club. The groom, groomsmen, and fathers had enjoyed the challenging 18 holes the day before...we'll let you ask them how they fared! Kristen and her bridesmaids and mothers had lunch and got manicures and pedicures before finishing some details for the reception.

Let's just get to the details of Kristen + Nick's gorgeous wedding day, shall we?

Gorgeous pink roses and berries for the bridesmaids, and pink roses and white Stephanotis for Kristen's bouquet.

White chairs, check!

What handsome groomsmen! Justin, Sean (Best Man), and Reggie (my husband!) smile while some formal portraits are being taken of the Bride and her family.

Thank you for being such good sports for this one! I love it!

Katie the photographer discovered the beautiful lighting for some bridal portraits before the ceremony. Splendid!

Kristen is walked down the aisle by her father as she spots her groom waiting for her...

Kristen and Nick had a sand ceremony, what a creative idea!

Lovely harp music, perfect for weddings!

Gorgeous centerpieces, lucky bamboo favors for guests, and cute programs!

The Bride & Groom's First Dance...all smiles!

One of my favorite outdoor photos - what a perfect day for a wedding of 2 wonderful people!

Katie works her magic...thanks again for all of your tips, Katie!

The couple is ready to depart in their getaway car.

Congratulations, Kristen and Nick!
