My husband and I went out on the town this past weekend. We enjoyed some delicious Greek food at Santorini. After dinner we happened upon a carnival and got some neat images. Here are just a few of my favorites. Enjoy!

Pretty Peonies

Pin It May 22, 2009

I have been waiting for the peony bushes to bloom next to Reggie's shop. And just over the past few days, some of the blossoms have really become lovely. Not only is the peony the state flower of Indiana, but it was one of the flowers in my wedding bouquet, so I'm rather partial to this natural beauty. My family has always had peony bushes for as long as I can remember. They have a sweet fragrance, and come in several luscious shades of white, cream, and pink, ranging from pale pink to a deep reddish pink. And their petals also vary in shape and size. The ones nestled beside Reggie's shop are cream and pale pink. Here are some of my favorite images from today.

One little ant marching along...

Have a great weekend!

At the Track

Pin It May 20, 2009

Reggie and I took the Baur for a spin around the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. It was a bright, sunny day, and the cars were lined up outside the IMS ready for their turn to go around one of the most famous tracks in the world. We were told the speed limit was 30mph, but we only got up to about 10mph. Police and safety vehicles were parked throughout the track to keep all of the drivers in line, and most of the drivers were going pretty slow...better to soak it all in that way, right? The best part was heading down the main straight, toward the pagoda, toward the yard of bricks. This year is the 100th running of the Indianapolis 500!

As we passed pit row, we saw old race cars on display,
so we checked those out after our victory lap. I'll take this pink one!

We took a quick walk through some of the garages
and saw driver Scott Dixon signing autographs for some lucky fans.

And the trophy all the drivers want to claim...

If you're heading out to the race this weekend, enjoy it!

Happy Birthday, Reggie!

Pin It May 20, 2009

Thirty-two years ago, a sweet baby boy was born into this big, big world. Little did he know how he would enrich the lives of all who know him, how he would inspire so many to follow their dreams, and how he would make one woman feel so proud, so lucky, so blessed to call him her husband.

Thirty-two years later, he continues to be just as sweet while sweeps me off my feet over and over and over again. Happy Birthday, to my husband, Reggie! I love you!

Reggie and I are going to drive some laps out at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway as part of Community Day - stay tuned for photos!

Happy Birthday, Reggie!

Photography Outing: Holliday Park

Pin It May 11, 2009
Indianapolis, IN

I had the pleasure of coordinating a photography outing this week. We ventured to Holliday Park. The weather was beautiful, as well as the surroundings. So many great sources of inspiration! Trails perfect for hiking and exploring, streams and ponds, a rock garden nestled in a curved path, a wide overpass complete with graffiti, and, of course, some wildlife. Here are are few of my favorites from the evening.

The Welcoming Committee!

I don't know what kind of flowers these are, but I just love their whimsy!
Here are 3 different takes...

This one is my favorite, I just like how the light filtered through the wispy petals.

Where the path curves...

This was taken under the wide overpass...I then tried my own hand at some "graffiti," only withouth using spray paint in a can.

Self-portrait time!

Mason: 3 Months

Pin It April 30, 2009
Fishers, IN

Just three short months ago, I held Mason for the first time in the hospital the day after she was born. I remember how tiny, how warm, and how sweet she was. And oh so soft! She had instantly become the apple of her parents' eyes. Twelve days later, I had the sheer joy of getting some newborn photos of this little sweetie. And just a week ago, after not seeing her for a little while, I caught up with her again for her 3 month session.

Mason gets a kick out of seeing her beautiful reflection in the mirror.

Seriously cute.

She has grown, and not just in length, but in personality!

She makes the cutest little cooing sounds and has the best lil' giggle.

Her eyes are sparkling blue, and she's got a great smile...

...until you have a camera pointed at her! That's right! Her mom warned me that she's learned to stop smiling as soon as you put the camera to your eye, and she was right! It's quite amusing, actually. I would put the camera down from time to time, or I would hold it off to the side to see if she would fall for that...no luck! She's one smart cookie!

Mason, thank you for sharing your afternoon with me!

You are such a sweetheart! See you soon!

Ready for the Road

Pin It May 7, 2009
Westfield, IN

My husband asked me to take some photos of one his finished projects. This sweet cabrio belongs to our friends, Sean and Kristen, and was destined for the crusher a few years back, when Reggie got a phone call asking if he would know anyone interested in it. Reggie made a phone call to Sean, and he was definitely interested, even though it would need a little work. Ahem, make that a lot of work. Sean said "Yeah, that would be cool." So a deal was made that sealed the fate of this hunk of metal, destined to be just that...only crushed to tiny bits and pieces of metal. Plus, the car only had roughly 86,000 miles on the odometer. The car was towed to Reggie's shop. I remember looking at it thinking this was going to be quite a project. An expensive project at that! I mean, the seats and dash were covered in dirt, dust, and grime, just crumbling away. Trash and debris was strewn about the interior. The top was shredded. As for the paint, I could barely tell the car was supposed to be white. Then Reggie cleaned and buffed just a small section of the hood. Wow! There actually was a nice, clean car hidden underneath!

To make a long story short, Reggie has done quite a bit of work to this car. To get the full scoop, please check out his blog, some of this will look quite familiar. :)

Let's just cut right to the photos!

This is one of my favorites. There's just something cool about this bridge with the signs on both sides.

Photography Outing

Pin It May 3, 2009
Indianapolis, IN

Some of my photography friends and I got together for some fun at the Indianapolis Arts Center. My colleague let me borrow one of his lenses for the day, which I really did not want to give back! Here are some of my favorite shots from the day. This is a beautiful location, and I will definitely have to go back. They host the Broad Ripple Art Fair, so if you get the chance, you may want check it out! It's coming up on May 16th and 17th.

I was in the middle of working on a shot of a light bulb, when I saw this little guy in my way...

Who knew those pesky dandelions could be so whimsical?

Please post a comment, and let me know which photo is your favorite and why! Thanks!Pin It
